HOW-TO
STEP_006:
Your device will capture carbon in direct proportion to how much algae you have bubbling away, and how much sunlight it receives. When your bottles become a dense looking green slime and the algae begins to clump and sink to the bottom, it’s time to remove half to three-quarters of the bottle’s contents and top it up with more water and plant food. You can use what you’ve collected through a fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth or French-press to filter out some of the water. You can then dry it in the sun to turn it into a powder which can be used in any number of recipes as additional flavoring or as a nutritional supplement or as a source of an unsettling green color. You can also turn your strained algae into compost, vegetable oil or biofuel. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination and physics.
